Abstract: 
The presentation shows the various influences modern Cyrillic type is under, mainly from Latin. Such influences can be traced back to the periphery of the Soviet Bloc, especially Bulgaria, where younger designers have created type that deviates from the old (boring) Soviet optical standard.
