Es gibt keinen Unterschied zwischen "regulären" morphologischen Bildungen (Flexion oder Wortbildung) und Analogiebildungen auf der Grundlage bereits existierender Wortpaare; ein zusätzliches, stipuliertes, analogisches Modul für Rückbildungen, Ersetzungsbildungen oder anderen Bildungen, die sich den üblichen Regelformaten widersetzen, ist überflüssig. Das Regelformat für alle Bildungen ist die Proportionsformel für Analogiebildungen (üblich von der Antike bis zu Hermann Paul oder de Saussure) bzw. das Format der "Word Formation Rules". Die Regeln unterscheiden sich in ihrer Produktivität; Rückbildungen z.B. sind lediglich weniger produktiv als ihre additiven Entsprechungen. Die Produktivität der Regeln reicht von voller Produktivität bis nahezu Null. Die generative Kapazität der morphologischen Komponente ist nicht durch das Regelformat beschränkt, sondern durch die Menge der bereits existierenden Wörter und durch die Produktivität der einzelnen Regeln.

There is no difference between "regular" morphological rules (inflexion or word formation) and analogical formations on the basis of pre-existing pairs of words; and there is no need for an additional, stipulated, analogical module in Grammar to cope with formations such as back-formations, replacive formations or other lexical creations that resist description by common formats of morphological rules. The rule format of all formations is the proportional formula for analogy (common from antiquity to Hermann Paul and de Saussure) or the format of "Word Formation Rules". The rules differ in productivity; back formation rules, e.g., are merely less productive than the corresponding additive rules. The productivity of rules ranges from full productivity to almost zero. The generative power of the morphological component is not restricted by the rule format but by the set of pre-existing lexical items and by the productivity of the individual rules.
