Importwaren in die Hansestadt Stralsund 1250 - 1450 : Untersuchungen am archäologischen Material

This thesis categorizes archaeological finds from within a specific Hanseatic town into trade goods and local goods. The focus is on trade goods, where they were manufactured and how they arrived in the Hanseatic trading hub of Stralsund. The thesis looks at and contrasts the written and archaeological evidence for trade and discusses trade routes. All is presented utilising the philosophical approach formulated by the Swedish archaeologist Anders Andrén of correspondence, association and contrast.
