500 Jahre nach Beginn der Reformation stellt sich die Frage, unter welchen religionspädagogischen Prämissen an dieses Ereignis und seine Folgen erinnert werden kann. Der Beitrag zeigt Optionen einer entgrenzten Erinnerungskultur auf. Dabei sollen Lernenden konfessionsübergreifende Angebote gemacht werden, sich mit dem Erbe der Reformation gegenwarts- und zukunftsbedeutsam auseinanderzusetzen. Drei ausgewählte Aspekte kommen in den Blick: (1) die Relevanz religiösen Lernens und religiöser Bildung, (2) alltagsprägende Wirkungen der Reformation sowie ökumenischer Initiativen und (3) die Herausforderung, mit Lernenden, die in „reformationslosen“ Erinnerungskulturen aufgewachsen sind, an die Reformation zu erinnern.

Half a millennium after the beginning of the Reformation, questions on how this event and its impacts may be commemorated in various contexts of religious education are gaining ground. The paper at hand delineates possibilities within the frame of an unbounded cultural memory which seek to enable learners to deal with the heritage of the Reformation. The focus will be on three interdenominational aspects concerning the present and future importance of this topic: (1) the relevance of religious learning and religious education; (2) effects of the Reformation and ecumenical initiatives on daily life; and (3) the challenge of commemorating the Reformation with learners who grew up in cultures without a memory of the Reformation.
