The cumulative dissertation comprises six articles exploring various behavioral aspects of sustainable finance. Article 1 assesses how German investors perceive "greenwashed" and genuine sustainable assets. Article 2 expands this inquiry internationally, considering cultural and country-specific differences. Article 3 examines the impact of psychological distance on sustainability preferences. Article 4 delves into the effects of providing investors with different sustainability information, bridging accounting literature and finance. Article 5 explores the use of lifestyle characteristics to infer investors' sustainability preferences, while Article 6 extends the examination to include religious motives.

Despite differences in focus, all articles highlight two key findings. Firstly, they indicate a strong non-pecuniary preference for financial products aligned with personal moral beliefs. Secondly, they underscore the multidimensionality and complexity of these non-pecuniary preferences, emphasizing the need to consider behavioral aspects in future research on sustainable finance.
