Abstract:
The presentation accompanies the paper "Die Tafel von Baška im Kontext der Digital Humanities" (https://fis.uni-bamberg.de/handle/uniba/44344). It illustrates some unresolved problems in encoding Slavic texts where one encounters a mixture of scripts in one document. For the Bashka Tablet, it turns out that is mixes a handful of Latin letters into the Glagolitic text; however, only two of them were included in Unicode as Glagolitic letters, the rest not (so far). This creates a strange situation where you cannot unequivocally encode this text in Unicode.
