Die Katholische Erziehergemeinschaft KEG Bezirksverband Oberfranken wurde als Dekanatsverband und Ortsverband Bamberg Ende 1947 gegründet. Federführend waren der Oberstudienrat Kaspar Zimmermann und Domkapitular Dr. Johann Schmitt. Mit der Gründung von Dekanatsgemeinschaften war die katholische Lehrerschaft von Bamberg und Umgebung "zur zielbewussten und tatkräftigen Förderung des gesamten Erziehungs-, Bildungs- und Schulwesens nach den Grundsätzen der katholischen Kirche" aufgerufen. Heute blickt die Katholische Erziehergemeinschaft KEG Bezirksverband Oberfranken auf eine 60jährige Geschichte zurück und ist ein Zusammenschluss christlich orientierter Pädagogen aus allen Erziehungs- und Bildungsbereichen."

The catholic education community (KEG)/district association of Upper Frankonia was founded at the end of 1947 as a deanery and local association in Bamberg. The leading persons at the time were the senior teacher Kaspar Zimmermann and the capitular Dr. Johann Schmitt. With the foundation of deanery associations, the catholic teachers of Bamberg and the surrounding area were appealed to for an active and target-oriented promotion of the entire education-, learning- and school-system according to the conventions of the catholic church. Nowadays, the KEG can look back on a 60-year-history; it is a federation of christian pedagogues from all areas of education and learning.
