Abstract:
The article discusses the origins of the Cyrilic ligature OT, compares it to the digraph in Glagolitic and reaches the conclusion that the writing of the Gree article TO, TOY etc. had the main influence on Cyrillic OT becoming a separate letter. For this to happen, only the Greek reading direction had to be changed.
