Biography
Guido Heineck has been Professor of Economics at the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg since 2011. He studied economics in Bamberg (1992-1998) and at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland, 1995-96). He received his doctorate from Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg in 2004 and his habilitation from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2009. He was employed as a research associate at the University of Bamberg (1998-2003), the University of Munich (2003-2004), the Austrian Institute for Family Research, Vienna, (2004-2005), and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (2005-2009). At the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), Nuremberg, he was head of the research department "Educational and Employment Trajectories" (2009-2011).

Guido Heineck is LIfBi Research Affiliate, Research Fellow at IZA Bonn, and member of the Economics of Education Committee and the Economics of Population Committee at the Verein für Socialpolitik. His research focuses on the economics of education and labor economics. His articles have been published in, among others: Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Economics of Education Review, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Comparative Economics, and Labor Economics.

At the University of Bamberg, Guido Heineck is actively involved in academic self-governance. He was Vice Dean from 10/2013-09/2015 and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Economics from 10/2015-09/2017. From 10/2017-09/2021 he was an elected member and vice-chairman of the Senate of the University of Bamberg. Since October 2017, he has been Chairman of the Doctoral Committee of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences.
