There are hardly any publications in German to introduce them to students of theology. This paper aims to inform about Postcolonial Studies, their key texts and how they were applied to biblical studies starting in the 1970s. It will then focus on the work of two biblical scholars from Botswana whose research at Bamberg University/Germany was sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Exegetical readings of four biblical texts (Mk 5,21–43; Gen 34; Prov 31; Esth 1) by Musa W. Dube and Mmapula D. Kebaneilwe will be presented in order to demonstrate strategies of postcolonial feminist interpretation and contextual African reading.deuPostcolonialFeministContextual ReadingAfricaMusa W.
