Mit der Gründung von Dekanatsgemeinschaften war die katholische Lehrerschaft von Bamberg und Umgebung "zur zielbewussten und tatkräftigen Förderung des gesamten Erziehungs-, Bildungs- und Schulwesens nach den Grundsätzen der katholischen Kirche" aufgerufen. Heute blickt die Katholische Erziehergemeinschaft KEG Bezirksverband Oberfranken auf eine 60jährige Geschichte zurück und ist ein Zusammenschluss christlich orientierter Pädagogen aus allen Erziehungs- und Bildungsbereichen."The catholic education community (KEG)/district association of Upper Frankonia was founded at the end of 1947 as a deanery and local association in Bamberg.
