The balm of Gilead (commiphora opobalsamum), like the zumbani (lippia javanica) of Zimbabwe, was used by traditional herbalists for healing several illnesses and diseases. Zimbabwe’s traditional and natural herb, zumbani, has been described as ‘the wonder herb’ (BHEBHE 2021) due to its antioxidant characteristics which are essential for mopping out COVID-19 related toxins in the human body.
