From September 22-25, 2025, the University Library will host the 9th European Conference on Information Literacy (ECIL) at the University of Bamberg. With over 300 participants, ECIL is the world's largest conference on information literacy.

Information Literacy in an AI-driven World being the main theme 2025 ECIL aims to bring together researchers, information professionals, media specialists, educators, policy makers and all other related parties from around the world to exchange knowledge and experience and discuss recent developments and current challenges in both theory and practice.
